Welcome to Pathetic Fishing

This is not the site to showcase your trophy catch, your expensive boat,  your electronics package,  or your overpriced reel.

We fail most of the time fishing, we keep trying and we would not have it any other way.

A lure is no secret weapon to catching fish

You have fallen for  the dozens of ads claiming that one lure is the secret to fishing success. The bottom of your tackle box is littered with many attempts but success eludes you.

Is it a reel or a birds nest?

If a $1200 reel is not your speed and your Walmart special has a nasty habit of turning into a birds nest, you have pathetic fishing gear but you make the best of it.

It’s not rust, it’s character

Whether it is saltwater or fresh, rust or barnacles, Poseidon is giving you subtle hints that you do not belong here.

Our boat and gear shows its age and we are OK with that.

The bobber

You still have your lucky bobber in  your tackle box. The bobber from the first rod/reel combo you got from grandpa on your eighth birthday. It is junk to others but you caught your first perch on an inland lake and started your connection to fishing.

A bad day of fishing is still better than a good day at work

Regardless of our subpar equipment and outcomes, we never miss a chance to go fishing.

Motto

Kind of what we stand for…

Based on the shirt on his back, you would assume the guy next to you has landed a trophy marlin, bluefin tuna or coho salmon that would put Ernest Hemingway to shame. How can blatant lies of fishing success be tolerated? Do golfers walk around in green jackets or bikers in a yellow jersey without the corresponding success? I think not. Join us and wear your fishing failures on your sleeve. Own that pathetically small fish you just reeled in.
